Use three long 10BA bolts to hold everything in place. Solder the spacer in place around the centre hole. Don’t get solder on the bolts, they need to come off. The spacer and bolts keep the front and back faces parallel and in exact alignment to each other. Check with a square if you wish; you can usually tell by eye if all is OK. Don’t overtighten the bolts.
